Chase Side Heritage Transformation
Listed Farm Buildings in Enfield

This farmyard is an extraordinary relic of Enfield’s 18C past. It is located at the northern end of Enfield’s Chase Side Conservation Area and comprises a Grade II Listed double fronted Georgian farmhouse, with black timber boarded barn and out buildings around the farmyard and neighbouring grocer’s shop dating from the mid 19C. Our client, the 6th generation of the family to live and work here, would like to redevelop the farmyard as a courtyard development of residential units. We have completed a feasibility and heritage study to establish the viability of conversion to 2 bedroom houses in consultation with the planners. We are now in the process of making a full planning application for 5 houses, with solar thermal and photovoltaic panels on the south facing slopes of the roofs, and restoration of the existing farmhouse and shop.
